We are here to assist wheelchair users to get the most out of the sport, whether they are just starting out or are experienced bowlers.

We help our members to become fully integrated into their local clubs and playing in league games, matches and competitions at club and higher levels.

We run several training weekends a year at Stoke Mandeville to give advice, help to improve standards through coaching by qualified coaches, to run competitions and play matches against other clubs.

We give advice to bowls clubs on the use of wheelchairs, buggies and clippies on the green and the other equipment needed such as ramps and boards.

BWBA is very proud to have close links with the governing bodies of the ladies and men's able bodied game, and they look to the Association for guidance on issues and rules affecting wheelchair bowlers. These links have greatly helped the integration of BWBA members into the able bodied game at their clubs and some have even represented their country in national and international games. Five of the finalists in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester were BWBA members.

Each year we organise two major competitions, our Nationals, bringing together the top bowlers from all over the UK. Also a Matchplay competition with the winners from qualifying rounds played in eight regions of the country in singles and pairs, with the finals taking place at Stoke Mandeville,

The BWBA has a partnership with national bowls magazine Nationwide Bowler. The magazine comes free to all members and is distributed to all indoor bowls clubs nationwide, it is filled with useful information / a calendar of events / advice and news from all regions of the country.
