The Dochas Trust

THE Dochas Fund was founded in 1998 by John Paterson of Argyll in Scotland to raise money for care and research into motor neurone disease (MND) - also known as ALS - and Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). John had both CIDP, a rare strain of GBS, and MND - two devastating conditions that rarely appear together. Knowing that he could not beat these diseases himself, he wanted "to zap them for future generations" and so gave the go-ahead for his artwork to be used on greeting cards to raise funds.
